Happy New Year to you all
We hope you enjoyed the festive season and are looking forward to a wonderful year ahead. A new year often makes us think about changing our lifestyles for the better and the health and fitness centre has been busy with people looking to focus on their health and fitness goals early on in the year.
We would love to see you all again soon and wish you all the best for 2012. If we can be of any assistance over the next 12 months, please don't hesitate to ask any member of the Millbrook Health and Fitness team, we'd be happy to help.
Kind Regards
The Health and Fitness Centre Team

New Pilates Class Introduced |

Build strength and flexibility with Pilates
Millbrook’s Health and Fitness Centre has just launched a new Pilates class which runs at 6pm on a Thursday and is suitable for all levels.
Pilates is a body conditioning routine that helps build flexibility and long, lean muscles, strength and endurance in the legs, abdominals, arms, hips, and back.
Pilates was developed in the early 20th Century in Germany and there are now over 11 million practicing Pilates worldwide. It puts emphasis on spinal and pelvic alignment, breathing to relieve stress and allow adequate oxygen flow to muscles, developing a strong core or centre (tones abdominals while strengthening the back), and improving coordination and balance.
Pilates' flexible system allows for different exercises to be modified in range of difficulty from beginning to advanced. Intensity can be increased over time as the body conditions and adapts to the exercises and no muscle group is under or over trained.
Millbrook has regular weekly Pilates classes. To find out more about Pilates or any of our classes, visit the Health and Fitness Centre or contact them on 03 441 7014.
