We are excited to announce that dates for the 3rd Alpine Epic have been confirmed. The event will run from Wednesday 23rd February to Saturday 26th February 2011.

As before the event will start in Mt Somers on Wednesday morning, finishing with a lakeside shindig on Saturday in Tekapo. The route will feature new tracks, some bovine surprises, short course options, and the introduction of 3 and 4 person team options.

Major changes include:

• 2, 3 and 4 person team options - 2 riders on course at one time. Interchange options available daily.
• Daily short course options for teams looking to indulge in the spectacular scenery.
• Exciting new food option at free stage finish BBQ.

The fantastic team at R&R Sport are coming back as a major sponsor for 2011. R&R have pretty much everything you need to have an enjoyable time at the 2011 Alpine Epic, tents, sleeping bags, a new bike, some polarfleece pants as well as nutrition and hydration needs. If that all seems a little too summery and your thoughts are on winter snow, jump into a store near you and get your hands on these ...cross training at it's finest.

Refer to detailed map below for information, more will be available on website when it is updated in next fortnight. Have the Alpine Epic experience while being able to savour the odd flat white from Geraldine, Fairlie or Tekapo...key points to note are that:

• Each 3 or 4 person team will require own vehicle for accessing marked change points.
• Riders can only swap at these designated change points.
• Only 2 riders from a team on course at one time.
• Your call as to who rides each leg.
