Alpine Epic Mountain Bike Stage Race - New Zealand 2011 Spread the word      Updates      News & Media
New Zealand's XC stage race, Mt Somers to Tekapo, 23rd - 26th February 2011
Today: Thursday 26 August, 2010   |   2011 Alpine Epic...entries open
Hello
2011 entries are officially open!

A little later than planned but we are excited that entries for the 2011 Alpine Epic are now open.

We are pumped for an action packed four days adventuring in the sun baked lee of the Southern Alps; however you'll still get plenty of time to lounge in the tussock post stage, sausage in hand, courtesy of Pete's BBQ wizardry.

It will be great to see you at Mt Somers in February.

Hop on over to our website to secure your place in South Canterbury history, and before the eager hordes beat you onto the wait-list.

Enter quickly and be seen in hot new lycra..

To spur you into action and a thanks to all of you who have been contacting us about entering, we have an offer that is as comfortable as it is enticing. Be one of 50 people to enter and pay before the 1st October 2010 and you will receive an Alpine Epic cycling top. Free.

No hidden catches. You'll also get a hefty discount on some matching cycling shorts so that you can be the best looking rider out training this summer.

In response to your questions

If you've got a query please email us and we will get back to you as soon as we can. We might be momentarily distracted buying prams, reading up on cryptozoology news or cutting things up.

  • How does the route compare to other years? This is a work in progress, but we are taking out some of the sections that people most heavily critiqued, so this year will feature the highlights of previous years, some cool new tracks, but retaining some epic high country riding.
  • Dietary requirements, yes we can pretty much cater for everything with our evening meals and breakfasts, let us know when you enter and we will see what we can do.
  • Solo riders. Sorry Megan, not this year...safety considerations and the team-work aspect that we are keen to encourage mean we will stick to teams only.
  • Is anti-chafing lube supplied? Sorry Shane, you have to provide your own, no-one wants any sneaky double dipping in the communal tub. We recommend Ready-Set-Go - Antichafe
One more thing...

Actually that is all for now, jump over to the entry page and make this summer one to remember.

Quickly quickly. First team to enter will get a little gift.
