EA Team Update

EA has continued to grow over the last six months as we introduce new staff members to the team and farewell others.  We thought this a great opportunity to introduce the current EA team...

We welcome Maria Turner to EA as a Property Manager.  Maria will be taking over from Jessica as Property Manager while Jessica bids farewell to EA after 3 years, to travel.  Maria has settled in Queenstown after extensive international travel and has called Queenstown home for 4 years.  Maria comes from a strong customer service background and is delighted to bring these attributes to EA.

We also introduce Samantha Taupo as the EA Letting Agent and Property Manager.  Samantha is used to working in a fast paced environment and manages all the property viewings and rental enquiries for EA along with a growing property portfolio.

Julie Shanks has been at EA as a Property Manager for 18 months and her property management portfolio continues to grow.  Her understanding and knowledge of property management and tenancy law is a great asset to the team.

Keith Hibbs started EA in 2001 and with over 400 successfully tenanted properties and a growing demand for short-term and long-term accommodation.  EA continues to grow with Keith leading the way in managing all new property management enquiries.

EA introduces Lisa Wilkins who looks after the Holiday Homes and short-term rentals.  Lisa has worked in the hospitality industry in Queenstown for several years and has a passion for Queenstown and all it has to offer.

We have extended the team further and Bridgette Mosher joins EA in admin and accounts.  Bridgette is the smiling face at the front of office and has all the answers should you have any admin enquiries.

New Features

We are always looking for ways to improve and grow and we are excited to introduce real time booking calendars for all of our holiday homes on the EA website.  One of the biggest pain points for travellers when searching for vacation rentals is inquiring about properties and later finding out they are unavailable.  We are sure the calendars are a great added feature and will assist in quick response reservations.  Holiday Homes featuring updated calendars received up to 37% more enquiries than those without. We also have all of our holiday homes listed on the Destination Queenstown website www.queenstownnz.co.nz

Rental Update

Although the winter season started slowly with the delay in the ski fields opening and the anticipated "first" snowfall appearing later than normal.  EA experienced some of our busiest months with the demand for rental properties out-stretching supply.  In fact as statistics confirm EA signed 37% of all tenancies for Queenstown.

The re-zoning of school areas in Queenstown has seen the demand for rental accommodation grow in Frankton and the surrounding areas and we are looking forward to meeting this demand with more rental accommodation in these areas.

Holiday Home Update

EA experienced a high occupancy rate in all of our holiday homes for the winter months and we are already getting booking enquiries for "Winter 2012" which is very positive in the face of the economic climate. Although, guest stay nights were down in Queenstown for August 2011, holiday enquiries continue to grow and we are looking at new marketing ideas to meet the changing market.  Lonely Planet has just chosen New Zealand's  Southern Lakes region as one of the World's Top 10 Regions to visit in 2012 so we look forward to a busy year ahead!
